“Our mission is to be partners with God in transforming people into fully devoted followers of Jesus.”

Welcome to Maroubra Baptist Church

Maroubra Baptist supports and faithfully prays for the Khmer people of Cambodia, whom we adopted as an unreached people group in 2003, and have continued to support.

Each May is 'Mission Month' when we raise money for our chosen mission.

To help us enhance our mission perspective, Global Interaction have designed a resource 'MOVED' which will inspire, educate and encourage our community to consider a biblical perspective of mission. The resource addresses three ways in which God calls us to be part of this mission.

  • Moved by God - A biblical overview revealing God's purpose to restore relationship with all people and his perseverance in using Israel and the early church to reach out to nations.
  • Moved by Others - Inspirational stories of God calling people into mission, highlighting the faithfulness and ordinariness of his followers.
  • Moved by Need - Reminded by God's heart to reach all people, we need cultural relevance, a global perspective and a dedicated response to the Spirit's prompting.

The Global Interaction website has more information on the inititative. We encourage you to be part of this exciting journey and be blessed as we travel together to renew our passion for 'Mission' and the work of reaching others for Christ.

Here at Maroubra Baptist Church we support and are encouraged by the work of Geoff and Julie Dowse. Geoff and Julie have co-founded the AusCam Freedom Project - a Christian Ministry in Cambodia, dedicated to enhancing the life opportunities of impoverished and at-risk Cambodian women aged 16-23 years, to reduce their vunerability to homelessness, violence, poverty, trafficking, and forced labour. They are commited to cultivating the next generation of strong, independant women in Cambodia. Visit their website at www.auscamfreedomproject.org and see for yourself the amazing work that they are doing in Cambodia. Any donation you can give to the project would also be greatly appreciated by Geoff and Julie, and the young women of Cambodia, and details on how to do this can be found on their website.

Other missions we support regularly include:

  • Baptist Missions - through The Baptist Cooperative Budget.
  • Africa Inland Mission Kenya - where our own Neville and Anne ministered for many years.
  • Barossa Eastern Europe Outreach - initiated by our good friends Richard and Ruth.
  • Open Doors - who minister to our brothers and sisters in the persecuted church.
  • Bible Society - who distribute the Word Of God through all missions.
  • Hope Street Urban Compassion - who minister to the homeless and destitute nearby.
  • Prayer Ministry - hosted by Greg B.
  • Ambassadors For Christ - John N and Life Works evangelism program.
  • Local Outreach - we also support many local mission initiatives.
